The Scott Valley Bank CCPRA Rodeo brought cowboys and cowgirls from across the west into Yreka along with Four Star Rodeo Company from Cottonwood to showcase the traditions of the American West. Four Star’s herd has some of the rankest bulls and horses in the rodeo business and on this night the cowboys and cowgirls were up for the challenge. To start the evening Ms. Riley Kutzer of Greenview gave a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem and the Finley Farms Mutton Bustin’ competition was won by Logan Scala who qualified at the 2016 Jefferson State Stampede. The all new Mt. Shasta Title and Escrow Mini Buckers was won by peewee Handsome Townsend and the Bob’s Ranch House Bareback winner was Casey Merosnekoff of Red Bluff. The Siskiyou Central Credit Union Tie Down Roping Champion was John McGill and California Outdoor Properties Saddle Bronc Champion was Laramie Collins. Double H Ranch Breakaway was won by Suzanne Williams and the Luke’s Drug Siskiyou County Saddle Cow Championship was won by Tyler Murphy and Preston Munson, both from Etna.. In other rodeo action, the Outlaw Saddles and Silver-Freida Wilson Steer Wrestling was won by Edgar Machado from Coalinga with local Casey Awbrey and Dan Holland winning the Fawaz Farming and Freitas Livestock Team Roping. The 2017 Century 21 Barrel Racing Champion was Angie Hardin and the Rex Club Bull Riding Champion was Laramie Collins of Woody, CA. Winning two events and the 2017 Clarity Medical Spa All Around was Laramie Collins of Woody, CA.
